Low Volume Roads Technology Initiative

Through AusLink the Australian Government is undertaking the Low Volume Roads Technology Initiative. The initiative will promote the investigation and development of new technology or the new application of existing technology to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of low volume roads.

Total funding of $2.5 million is available for the initiative. This will be available to successful low volume road technology projects from 2007-08 to June 2009.

This initiative is being funded under section 30 (part 4) of the AusLink (National Land Transport) Act 2005.

Project applications

Applications were invited for research grants from university engineering faculties, road construction consultants and research entities interested in conducting original road technology research.

The application period has now closed. No new applications will be accepted. Information on the next stage of the funding process will be available soon.
