Bilateral Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding

AusLink bilateral agreements with each State and Territory Government set out:

• the agreed responsibilities of the Australian, State and Territory Governments for AusLink implementation;
  
• the projects that the Australian Government will fund in the first five years (up to 2008-09);
  
• the funding contribution that the Australian Government, and where relevant, the respective State and Territory Governments will make to each project;
  
• conditions attached to the Australian Government's funding for AusLink projects; and
  
• the way in which all governments and agencies will partner in assessing longer term investment needs on the AusLink Network and developing and prioritising projects to address those needs.

Memoranda of Understanding

Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) in relation to additional projects are also in place with some State and Territory governments. Each MOU:

• draws upon relevant sections of the bilateral agreement: and
• describes the projects to be completed with the additional funding.
